Do you think Yorkshire Puppies
will suit you?

cute yorkshire puppies 01

Yorkshire puppies are also known as Yorkshire Terriers or Yorkie puppies for short. This tiny but bold breed loves to explore and have fun.

They are great if you're after a distinct looking pup that can make a good little watchdog despite their small size. If you love pampering your dog they are ideal as grooming requirements are extensive.

What size will Yorkshire puppies reach when fully grown?

A Yorkie is a very small sized dog and are often referred to as “Toy” breeds. They tend to be between 20-23cms (8-9 inches) tall. The head of a Yorkie will generally meet the mid to high shin area whilst the back will sit at roughly your lower shin area.

yorkshire puppies information How heavy will Yorkie puppies grow to be?

Yorkies are very light puppies. A typical and healthy weight is between about 5-7 pounds (2.5 to 3.5kgs).

This is handy if you want to pick your pooch up off the ground when they decide to misbehave.

What Colors do Yorkies tend to be?

These tiny adorable pooches have a very distinctive tan and blue coat which makes them recognizable.

They are born with black and tan within their coat but it tends to turn to blue and tan as they get older.

How long is the Coat of a Yorkshire Terrier?

Yorkshire puppies generally have a very long, smooth and straight coat which has a silky texture. This breed has no undercoat and doesn’t shed. This makes them an ideal indoors pooch as they won’t leave a trail of hair on your floors.

How long will I need to spend grooming my Yorkie puppies?

As mentioned above, a fantastic benefit is that these pooches don’t shed hair, so people with allergies can cope very well with them as pets. However, due to their hair length, grooming requirements are quite extensive. You will need to give daily brushing to keep your pups coat tangle and matt free.

With their long hair, you may also need to keep their ears and eyes clean.

Do Yorkshire Terriers have a long lifespan?

Yorkshire Terriers will typically live to be 12-15 years of age and with good nutrition and care, they have been known to live beyond that.

As with all dogs, giving that extra care will likely extend your pups lifespan.

What sort of temperament will a tiny Yorkshire Terrier have?

Despite their miniature size, Yorkie puppies are usually very bold and surprisingly can make good little guard dogs for your home. They tend to keep watch of your surroundings and bark at strangers, quite loudly we might add. If you get a Yorkie pup, you will notice their courageous mannerisms right from the start.

cute yorkshire puppies 03 You can’t help but notice their large personality mixed in with high intelligence and spunk. They do have high energy levels so they are best suited to older children rather than really young ones.

Being so independent and having a terrier nature, exploring your house and backyard will keep them occupied but only for so long.

It is a good idea if you provide them with regular attention, games and freedom. You will find that your Yorkie is very loyal and affectionate towards you, to keep them happy it is best that you show them the same.

How much Exercise will my Yorkshire puppies need?

You may need to spend a fair bit of time grooming these dogs but little time is needed when it comes to exercise. They are best suited to short lead walks and just regular playing with you. Playing with them indoors is great due to their tiny size. A great benefit if you’re looking for a pup to play with and not risk damaging anything.

Am I the Ideal owner for a Yorkshire Terrier?

cute yorkshire puppies 04 Yorkshire puppies are a great choice if you live in a small home or apartment. But you will need time to play, walk and give this pooch plenty of attention and stimulation.

If you have other pets they will get along quite well with them, however they will be suited better to older children rather than very young ones.

Being very loyal, affectionate and intelligent, their fearless nature is great if you need some companionship living alone. If you are willing to give Yorkshire puppies the love and care they require, especially when it comes to grooming, they will be a fantastic addition to your home.
