Sporting Dog Breeds to keep you Active!

In general, your sporting dog breeds are very active and alert companions. They are happy to accompany you on walks and thrive on being given tasks.

As an owner of sporting dogs you must realize that they require a lot of exercise and activity to keep them healthy and happy. This group is largely made up of retrievers, setters, spaniels and pointers.

These dogs for many generations have been involved in field activities such as hunting and retrieving.

If you own a sporting dog you will notice that these dogs love to go on long walks and play off the lead. This is the best way that you can give them the amount of exercise they require. So long as you train them well to stay close and come back when asked.

Tip: Many of the dogs in the Sporting Group enjoy playing in water. Your dog will love to be taken for swims especially if you have use a Retriever Toy, (these can be great especially when you don't wanna get your hands dirty!) .
