The most important facts and information puppy mills don’t want you to know are that they purely exist to make a profit. Unfortunately they mass breed dogs at minimum cost in order to make the best profit possible.
The result is if you purchase a puppy through them, you will be left with a pooch that has lived it’s most crucial time in an unloving environment. Puppy mills sell directly to the public via the Internet, newspaper classifieds, at the mill or the puppies end up at your local pet stores.
The facts and information puppy mills are not eager to tell you about are the commonly shocking conditions such as: Poor facilities. Puppies are often found in small overcrowded cages with limited space to move, cold dirty concrete floors, inadequate bedding and little stimulation from the world. Your puppy needs open space and the ability to socialize and be loved by litter mates and its mother.
Poor Nutrition is provided. Often the puppies are not only being fed the wrong food but also being underfed leading to growth issues. For you to have the healthiest possible friend, they need specific diets and to be given the right amounts.Your puppy is growing at a rapid age between birth and 8 weeks, lack of food results in lack of growth and higher risk to health problems. This results in costing you more money later down the track.
Inbreeding occurs. If your puppy is inbred, meaning that the mother and father of your puppy are related in some way (brother and sister, cousins), there is a very high risk of health issues. The facts and information puppy mills don’t tell you are that this commonly occurs. Unless they are buying unrelated puppies for each breed, it is inevitable. Good dog breeders go as far as getting a stud from a different country or state to breed with their bitch so this doesn’t occur. Sadly, some dogs live their entire lives in puppy mills, purely kept to become breeding machines. Multiple litters in bitches can lead to health issues and once this happens the mills usually kill the animals as they feel they are no use to them anymore.

Your puppy will get many of its traits and personality from its parents. If your puppy’s mother has spent its entire life locked up in small cages, your puppy will inherit poor socialization skills.

inhumane.
As long as people are buying their puppies, they will continue to exist.
