Just any name is not enough, you need cute puppy names to make the best choice for your pooch. Naming your puppy can be difficult, especially if you want one that represents your friend’s gorgeous personality. The best thing to do, is get to know your puppy first. Some cute dog names are suitable purely on the looks of your new pup.
If your friend has white paws but the rest of it’s body is brown, you might call your puppy “Socks”. You may have a completely black Labrador and decide to call it “Jet”, as in jet black. Coming up with a cute name is a bit harder than a common name, but we believe it is worth it when you find the perfect one. Some ways to pick your own cute puppy names, is to go through your favorite brands, colors, cartoon characters, sporting teams, celebrities etc. Say you love the Versace designer brand, you may call your pooch “Sace” pronounced “Sa-chi”. Unfortunately we can’t tell you what to name your new adorable family member, actually we wouldn’t want to because it needs to come from you. Only you can choose the right name, so to help, we have created some tips on how to pick some cute puppy names below:
Begin by playing with your puppy and getting to know what their personality is like.Does your pooch have any distinct markings or do they have interesting movements that catch your eye? Do they have qualities that remind you of your favorite celebrity or sporting hero? They don’t need to look like your puppy, plus it is unfair to ask a celebrity to look as cute as your puppy, it just doesn’t happen. Do you have kids that want to name your family pooch or do you simply love cartoons? Possibly a name from a cartoon or animated film will suit your puppy’s personality. Is your puppy quick on their feet and it reminds you of your dream car or motorbike? Is your puppy very calm and peaceful, reminding you of your favorite beach or holiday destination?As you come up with ideas or see cute puppy names in our list, write down the ones you think will fit best. Picture yourself calling out to your pup with each name and see if it feels right. You are the only one that can tell which fits.Try to keep your list of names to between 5 and 10. This means when you go through the process of elimination, picking the right one will be less stressful on you.
Once you have your list, it’s time to test the cute puppy names out. See if there are shortened versions or nick names that can be used with each name.You will generally find a shortened version of the name that you will use more to call out to your puppy than the full name. Or you may come up with an extended nick name for your pooch. Take the above example, “Versace” could be your puppy’s name, but you call it “Sace” for short. As you find shortened versions of the name, you should be able to decide on just one. Practice calling out to your pup with the new name and see if it feels right to you. If it does, then it is great, you have found your new puppy a great name. If it doesn’t feel right, go back to your list of 5-10 cute dog names and try another one.Hold back from calling your puppy a name too much until you have one definite name. You can confuse your little friend and possibly end up with your pooch reacting to a name you don’t think is best.
No matter what name you choose, you must feel happy to call your puppy. The name should bring a smile to your face when you use it. Just remember, cute names are harder to come up with, but are worth it when you find the right one.
